A Mavericks Code

Don’t be a Dick!

  • Don’t work with dicks!

  • If someone is being a dick, tell them. Politely

  • If you’re being a dick others should be able to tell you and you listen

  • Be kind

Treat others how you want to be treated

No one wants to be treated like trash. So don’t feel it’s OK for you to treat others like that. Manners cost zero and can actually improve your life as well as other peoples. If this doesn’t make sense. Read don’t be a dick again.

Make someone smile

I’ve being trying to do this for all my adult life. It’s amazing what a smile at a stranger can do. That person may have not interacted with someone for quite a while. Just a small showing of human compassion may end up making a real difference to somebody life.

It’s OK to put me first

This isn’t being selfish. In order for you to help others you need to be the best version of yourself. The idea is to not do this all the time. It’s great that you work on you, but remember there are others around you.

Time is relative

  1. It’s the most important thing.

  2. You can only over spend it once.

  3. Respect your time and others

Be aware of evil doers

I’ve always had a real problem with arseholes. You know those people that either bully or try to dominate others for their own sense of power. I take great pride in being the person to knock those type of people from their ivory tower.

Protect

We all have people we care about. Protect them and everybody you love.

Work to live, not live to work

The myth is that you strive to find balance of work and home life. This is a fantasy. Mavericks intertwine all the elements of work and play where both work in harmony.

Trust your instincts

A Maverick learns to trust themselves and be guided by what they feel is right. We don’t always think. We feel !
